InterfaceLift

I know, there are gazillion webpages offering ‘free wallpapers‘. Well, most of the times you end up running a tool like Spybot to remove the crap from your hard disk after a short visit. After you killed roughly half a gazillion gambling, life insurance, porn or pharmacy popups, that is.

Anyway, there is a sweet collection of high-resolution wallpapers over at InterfaceLIFT. Most of them come in widescreen versions as well, no pop-ups, no registration, no hassles. Enjoy!

It really is a great site. And no rubbish pics, as you find on many others.

Reminds me of another art site I really love:

Oh, as for worth1000: Look at the “Evil Twins” contest. That’s f***ing amazing. Oh, and the Bizarrchitecture contest. And… well, I’ll stop here. I understand you’ve got work to do. ;)

Sorry to disappoint you dear, but Worth1000 is not exactly cutting edge avantgarde these days ;-)

Nonetheless do they feature quite some marvellous Photoshop works … last thing I recently noticed was the ‘If Goths ruled‘ and ‘If Goths ruled 2‘ contests … a couple of pretty neat ideas there although some ‘works’ are abysmal in quality and rather look like they have been done by a bunch of visually impaired chimpanzees playing around with Microsoft Paint.

    Oh, I don’t care about avantgarde. ;)
And I invite you to do better. :P

    Too easy. ;-)

(admittedly not goth, but my most recent ‘work’)

Bah, cheater. This was easy to do.
I did not mean “do better than the beginners there” but “do better than the really good ones”. :)

This reminds me of “The Fake Detective” — remember that site? Anyone? Well, technical standards used to be a tad lower back then ….

This fake of Tiffani-Amber Thiessen is a good example of replacing the body to create a fake, instead of simply replacing the head. While not perfect, it is nicely done, with a good match on skin tones and keeping the rock in position in front of the body. Our only problem with it is that the original is already considered a “nude”, so the fake just made Tiffani nuder.

    April 1998 … *sigh* … ;-)

Yeah, that’s America: nude and nuder. hr hr.

btw, browsing worth1000 for a while, I felt like contributing to a contest myself. Have a look at “Sickening cute”. Page 3. Isn’t that cee-oooooote? *g*

    changing the subject :)

Inspired by “gazillion” I rememberd one…

This one comes from an unknown source:

The news comes to Donald Rumsfeld that three of Brazil’s soldiers were killed in Iraq.
He takes this news to the President “George, I must inform you that three Brazilion soldiers died in Iraq today”.
Bush shakes his head in sorrow and says a silent prayer.
He then asks “Don, remind me, just how many is a brazilion?”.
