Und die merkwürdigen Icons sind nicht einmal das Seltsamste an dieser “Railway from Hell”…

Hübsch finde ich, wieviel Mühe sich ‘Zompist’ mit der Analyse dieses grossartigen Kinderspielzeuges gegeben hat.

Meine Vermutung zu den Piktogrammen ist:

• Mit der Hand aufs Auge schlagen schmerzt!
• Suppenwürfel nur nach Einnahme von Flüssigkeit schlucken!
• Einnahme der Flüssigkeit muss ohne abgeschnürten Hals erfolgen!
• Gesichtsnarben verschwinden im Alter.

“Arenamontanus” gave some thoughts to which warning signs might be needed in the future.

While this is inherently a pretty creative idea he additionally came up with a couple of quite clever solutions and reasonable explanations.

Let’s hope he’s not prior-art embattling for a 2030s series of copyright lawsuits…

Weird. I’ve been googling for a site exactly like this: A free source for symbols (or pictograms to be more precise) and could not come up with one. So here it is:

Map Symbols & Patterns for National Park Service Maps. As this is an US government site, I assume these symbols are free to use. I couldn’t find anything regarding copyright on their site, so drop me a line if you have details on the usage terms.

The site features different sets in .pdf and .ai (Adobe Illustrator) vector format. Enjoy!
